ReWalk, the World’s Leading Wearable Robotic Exoskeleton, Honored for Outstanding Innovation in Robotics

Munich, Germany—June 4, 2014 — Today, Argo Medical Technologies and the ReWalk exoskeleton system were awarded the top prize at the Service Robotics Masters in Munich. A worldwide competition for start-ups in the robotics field, the Service Robotics Masters is designed to promote this emerging market by rewarding companies that are developing innovative service robotics products in relevant industries, including aerospace, agriculture, automotive, infrastructure, medicine and healthcare, security and sports. The award is being presented in partnership with the European Space Agency’s Business Incubations Center. “To be selected as the winner among such an impressive lineup of global innovators is truly gratifying for the ReWalk team,” said Larry Jasinski, CEO of Argo Medical Technologies. “The ReWalk is changing lives, and a platform like the Service Robotics Masters will help us to amplify our message around the world, and bring this revolutionary technology to more users.”

In partnership with YASKAWA Europe GmbH, the ReWalk was showcased in the Service Robotics Exhibition at the Automatica 2014 this week. ARGO and YASKAWA Electric have had a strategic alliance since September 2013. ReWalk is a robotic exoskeleton that provides powered hip and knee motion to enable individuals with lower-limb disabilities, such as paraplegia, to stand upright and to walk. It provides individuals with user-initiated mobility through the integration of a wearable brace support, a computer-based control system and motion sensors.

The company offers two products: the ReWalk Personal and the ReWalk Rehabilitation wearable robotic systems. The ReWalk Personal System is designed for everyday use by individuals at home and in their communities, and is currently being used in Europe, Israel and other countries. The ReWalk Rehabilitation system is used in the clinical rehabilitation environment, where it provides valuable means of exercise and therapy as well as a training base for users to obtain their Personal system.
