ReWalk Robotics Featured Presenter at Bloomberg Enterprise Technology Summit
ReWalker Claire Lomas Takes Stage to Discuss Exoskeleton Technology
London, England – December 9 – ReWalk Robotics announced one of its ReWalkers, Claire Lomas, will be a featured guest at the Bloomberg Enterprise Technology Summit in London today. This annual summit brings together leading companies, executives and innovators, assessing “how financial institutions, governments and Fortune 500 companies are leveraging cloud technology, securing the enterprise, and addressing emerging regulations.”
During the day’s programming, ReWalker Claire Lomas will take the stage to showcase ReWalk’s exoskeleton technology and speak of her personal experience as someone with a spinal cord injury utilizing the ReWalk Personal system at home and throughout her community. Claire will be speaking with Bloomberg LINK Managing Editor in a session titled, Show & Tell: Robotics Running with Champions.
Lomas was injured during a horseback riding event in 2007, which left her paralyzed from the chest down. She is renowned for walking the entirety of the 2012 Virgin London Marathon in her ReWalk system. Claire walked 2 miles of the course each day, completing the race in 17 days. Lomas would also wear her ReWalk system to light the Paralymic Cauldron for the 2012 Paralympic Games in London later that summer.
“Claire is an inspiration to the spinal cord injured community, and is an incredible voice for ReWalk around the world,” said Larry Jasinski, CEO of ReWalk Robotics. “We are grateful to have Claire speaking at today’s Bloomberg summit, where she can share the innovation of exoskeleton technology with such an esteemed crowd of business leaders.”
ReWalk is a wearable robotic exoskeleton that provides powered hip and knee motion to enable individuals with SCI to stand upright and walk. The system provides user-initiated mobility through the integration of a wearable brace support, a computer-based control system and motion sensors. The system allows independent, controlled walking while mimicking the natural gait patterns of the legs. In addition to the ability to stand and walk independently, clinical data on the ReWalk Rehabilitation system show significant potential physiological benefits.
ReWalk is the most used, most studied exoskeleton technology with over 400 ReWalkers worldwide. The company received FDA clearance for its Personal exoskeleton system in June 2014, making it the only exoskeleton technology with FDA clearances in the U.S. that can be legally marketed. ReWalk Robotics Ltd. listed its initial public offering September 2014 with NASDAQ.
